Default Karl Bracher Jr. Water Razor Hone

I picked up a 6 x 2 Karl Bracher Jr water razor hone recently. It looks exactly like a Thuringian. I am wondering if anyone has any info on the stone or brand.

I’m almost positive it’s a thuri. I was just hoping for some info on the general brand quality from anyone who has had any experience with it. Thanks! I’ll throw up some pictures when I get home from work as it was delivered today.

It has been sometime, but I think the ones I remember with that name are Thuringian.

It is definitely soft and after lapping it I’m pretty sure it’s a Thuri.

    Here are pics as promised.

Looks like Escher with different branding to me.

Yeah that is what I remember almost like a barber's delight.

    Karl/Carl - Bracher/ Brächer had a whetstone company in Sonneberg/ Thüringen.

    Here is some short information.

The stone is clearly a thuringian.
    Nice find!

After using it, I’m sure it’s a very nice, soft, yellow/green Thuringian. Although it is the same size as a Barbers Delight, it doesn’t have the dual coloring common to Barbers delight hones. But I’ve never used a barbers Delight so I can’t compare. I’m going to shave with the edge during my next shave and see how it goes. The steel felt really nice on the stone though

I recently scored the Bracher Jr. hone, like you say feels very nice on the steel. I love the edges I have been getting, been playing around with how much water to use as i am getting close to finished seems like running it down to almost dry (not quite but close) works well for me but still learning.
