Thread: Rouge du Salm backed boxed Coticule

Here is a comparison of Lorraine Rouge / Rouge Du Salm (RDS) besides BBW. The three on the left are Lorraine Rouge, the two right are BBW. You can see how reddish the coloration of RDS is compared to BBW.

Concerning fineness the one far left ist the finest Lorraine Rouge i ever came over. There is nearly no visible pattern, its like Looking on a synthethic pressed stone of very fine grain. Used with a lubricant like a light oil or water glycerine it polished like hell. So depending on the stone Lorraine Rouge / RDS can be a decent finisher. But is does not always have too....

Mine looks alot like the middle of the three you just posted. I would guesstimate it ar 4k-5k leaning twards the 5k. It leaves a finish like uchigamiri, nice kasumi finish. While the Coti side I would say 6k-7k, leaning to the 6k but it is a fast cutter. The Coti leaves a shinny finish and not so even, unlike the Rouge stone that leaves a very even finish.
