    Default My first coticule

I admit my curiosity to all aspects of straight razor shaving has driven me to the brink. I couldn't stand reading about coticule honing and the shaving results without trying one. Here is my new addition. A Les Latneuse coticule. I took two razors and honed them on the coticule using circular and X strokes. I continued until the razors were sticking to the stone. I then took one razor and did 7 laps on my Mastro Livi chromium oxide side and 60 laps on the skin. The other razor I just stropped on the skin side of the loom strop. Smooth shave but much better from the razor that I used the chromium oxide on. There is a distinct difference in the shave from the coticule over JNats. Lastly I took a razor from a artisan that always seemed harsh and used the coticule, chromium oxide and loom strop and low and behold, the shave was much smoother. Now I really got the bug and want to try other coticules. My wife can't understand why I spend so much on rocks that aren't diamonds. WOMEN!Name: IMG_0070.jpg

Congratulations on a very positive first experience with a Coticule. Perhaps also. your experience with the JNATs' was of significant help.

I am curious to know if anyone has used JNats first then went to a cuticule? What if any was the difference?
