Thanked: 156oh that's a La dressante Upper layer.
Loud feedback on slurry ... icy feedback on water...speed and hardness are variable....but usualy from medium to fast and medium to hard....gray stones are softer.
Colourfull ones are usualy harder.
Finessse...it's one of the finest cotis n terms of granularity.

Thanked: 61It's like you've used the hone yourself! It's pretty easy to see why people can get a bit obsessed with coticules. Even the smell of the hone and the slurry is something I find really intoxicating.

Thanked: 2Any guess as to which vein/layer this new coticule from Ardennes comes from?

Reminds me of a La Grise, awesome looking stone! I also hear some of their "whatever the line is called" all come from the La Grise mine, or at least they used to not too long ago, it might still be true
I have one that looks a lot a like it, bought from Ardennes directly and marked as a La Grise it also has the exact orange-y colored layer in between
Amazing stones, leaves one of the best/smoothest finishing edges imoLast edited by TristanLudlow; 05-31-2018 at 02:23 PM.
