Thanked: 0Rozsutec anyone?
I’ve just ordered a new hone from Slovakia. I was browsing Pinterest under a search for ‘natural sharpening stone’ and there appeared a picture of a stone with the name of Rozsutec. Twenty minutes later I’d googled it, found a supplier in Latvia and paid the huge sum of 23 Euros including postage to Scotland. Anyone out there know what I’ve ordered?

Thanked: 0That’s the one, the description of 6k - 10k is a bit vague but for the 23 euros I’m paying it’s well worth a try.

Henk Bos has some information on the Roszutec stones.

It can be found on page 111.

Thanked: 0That’s a really good site you’ve sent there. The only problem is the desire to source and buy one of each!

Yes, and a few of those are relatively local to you.
Enjoy your Roszutec, I have one but haven't used it much yet. I've been playing with a Dalmore Blue and a Quartzite hone.

Thanked: 0I’ve just been googling Eidsborg, the idea of honing a razor with a stone used by Vikings is childishly cool!

Thanked: 3795I have a Roszutec scythe stone. I only use it for prepping the blade for heavy brush cutting. I have a few other scythe hones that are more fine. I would estimate as a razor hone that it would be on the more coarse end of the finishing spectrum.
