Natural tan colored stone ID help
Hello gents, been a while since I have posted a "what is it" here for you experts to weigh in on. I picked this stone up at a flea market last fall for $1 or $2. I got around to lapping it down today to see what was under all the crud and this is what I found. It is tan colored with caramel streaks and brownish dots. The edges show obvious layering, very thirsty, drinks water like a sponge. Measures 8 1/4" x 2 1/4" x 1/2"
Interested to hear what it may be, I now I don't have another like it in my collection.
EDIT: After refreshing my memory with some research, I'm thinking it could be Hindostan?

That look's very much like a Hindostan to me. The one I have is only one solid color except for the horizontal bands that give it away. It could be you are on one of these bands which give it that spotted look?
They are usuallly mid grade but my example I would put it at 7k-8kish. Yours looks like it was well used, that could indicate it was well loved. The ones I have seen are about a inch thick and mine is about a inch and three eights.
Looks nice! Good look with her!

Thanked: 9The lines and thirstiness say Hindostan but the spots make me unsure. Never seen one quite like that. Beautiful stone, Congrats!
