Thanked: 36Hone ID help needed - what did I get?
Was hoping someone might be able to help me ID this hone. It came with a straight razors I purchased on eBay a while ago. No info was provided about it. It is 7" x 1.5" x 5/8". One side is cream/tan and the other is brown.

Some type of coticule.

I'd bet my bottom dollar that it is a coticule.

Looks like an old Coticule glued to a piece of BBW
A couple of more pictures / close ups would help, but the ones I have that look highly alike are all Coti + BBW glued;
back in the day BBW was 'always' used as a"""backer""", although I find calling the BBW a backer is proving it a big disregard, it's an amazing stone with great capabilitiesLast edited by TristanLudlow; 08-17-2018 at 11:10 AM.

BBW or junk stone backer. They do the junk sto es now days, but years ago the BBW was used a lot more for a backer. Bei g this doez look old, you could have a dual stone there.
But im no Coti guy. Just what ive read.It's just Sharpening, right?
