Not that I know. Maybe the other sizes... but I don't see that in the photo's or write-ups. Don't know?

When I viewed them a few years back, they had a 1k and a 6k mounted on separate metal stands and the same size as the diamond hones. Reduced in size, they looked like the traditional Suehiro water-stone line that had somehow been hard-baked to allow oil use. Same colors, light blue for 1k and off-white for 6k.

I don’t need to pretend, David, as I always research my purchases very thoroughly, especially when it’s a $300 finishing stone. Based on all of the SG20k reviews here on this site, the number negative reviews I encountered were pretty much statistical noise compared to the overwhelming praise. For the past 2 years, I’ve only seen 2 occasions where a used SG20k was available for purchase.

This was one of the best SG20k review threads. I searched through and read a few others before responding here, but responses were pretty much inline with this one linked above.

I like a sharp, smooth edge whether that comes from a Naniwa 12k SS, my b/g Escher, and now my Suehiro Gokumyo 20k. Not saying my HAD is in complete remission, but I have no plans to buy any other hones.

As always, you have to be diligent in your review reading - but I figured with dudes dropping the cash they do, no one would be bad mouthing it in order to not feel like a tool for dropping 260 for a stone. But nope.

Listen Mark, just so you know, and I'm not blowing smoke up yours or onimaru55's ... If you guys like it, then I'm chalking it up as worthy. It's nice hanging on a forum like this and getting to know what others like and finding you like it too - it helps.

I BS you knot. I don't need anymore synthetic stones - or any stones of any type... but it's a sickness. And when it strikes again, if it's going to be a synthetic, it's going to be a Suehiro. I know they are dear, but I'm going to start recommending them too.
I’m sure, like with any hone, it’s the person using the stone that makes all the difference. From what I’ve heard from people I know can hone, you can’t go wrong with the G20k. I need to try an edge finished on one before I would drop that kind of money though. Seems like almost all the guys who hone razors for money have one, that in itself speaks volumes.

So how does a razor feel on that new hone? Can’t wait to see the pics of the bevel too, it will be interesting to see what the bevel finish looks like.

20k suehiro delivers for sure. Having said that I find a jnat done right delivers keener and smoother. I sold my 20k few years ago. Don't miss it. And haven't used it in a while. As far as new stones, there will always be a latest and greatest. Choices are good. But I don't use my synths much past 1 or 3k anyway.
