    Default Unknown stone

    Another stone whose name I do not know. I wonder if it is a regular sandstone or maybe a stone for sharpening.
    Thick grain is ideally suited for preliminary shape.

    Not sure what you've got there but it looks as though it's fairly soft by the appearance of that grooving. I'm viewing on a phone screen so I'm not getting all the fine detail but it does look like sandstone is a possibility from the look of the texture at the broken off end.

    This groove was made because my father once polished the edge of the glass on it.
    It was similar to Dalmore Blue, but I showed pictures after leveling the surface.
