Yes. Several times. Having difficulty getting a comfortable edge. Might be a pre-finisher. Tho I was told it should be more like a 10-12 k edge.

What stones are you using before this one? It is possible the bevel was not fully formed before hitting that stone.

I mean it's possible I guess. But it was easily cutting arm/leg hair off 1K. I progress 1K king to 4 K hayabusa, to 8 K Norton. Then to this stone.

Tried this stone directly after the 1K, with slurry, diluting down to clear, X strokes - poor shave.

Tried this stone after 1K King and 4K Hayabusa and 8 K Norton, with slurry, diluting down to clear - better shave, but worse than an 8K Norton IMO.

Tried this stone after 8K no slurry, water only, and not much of an improvement.

Here is an edge pic of the stone as provided by a friend with a scope. This is post 8K no slurry, water only, 30 X strokes. The long streak at the top is just alcohol residue I believe. Look at the scratches from this stone....

You should be able to get a comfortable shave from the norton 8k. Try again and stop at the 8k and see if it is comfortable than try the new stone and test shave.

Tough to say from that photo.

The photo is not very clear, if that is the edge on the left side, it does appear you are not honing to the edge on the upper half of the bevel in the photo. And your bevel is full of deep stria and a random pattern for a finished edge.

Perhaps a pic of the 8k edge for better comparison.

    Could be a pre-finisher stone.
