Thanked: 0Stones identification help required
Hello,
I got 2 stones cut from a bigger piece by a very old man here who is a sharpener from father to son . He said he has these from his grandfather who got the piece from Italy 70 years ago. He sais that this stone is what he usses for shaving sharpening. The name he sais is mississipi stone but I do not find any connection to misssissipi american state in stone production. Below a link to a photobucket album. Hope someoane can id the stone. Rubbing each other wet produces a white slurty in 1.5 minutes. Cutting performance is slow but with a lot of feedback.
