This being your first post, welcome to SRP.

I cannot say definitively what the stone is. But that narrow label on the inside reminds me of a celebrated water hone (blue Thuri) I have. The "British Production" stress is curious. Could it be a European-sourced stone (e.g., Thuringian) that was cut to size and lapped in Britain? The prohibition against oil also makes me think this as British stones are often used with oil.

    Welcome Shadov!

Agree, it looks promising as a blue thuri, especially because of the caution about oil.

Don’t you love it when seller’s Photoshopping works against them? Lol.

Does it slurry easily, and what color is the slurry?

Doubt it is a UK stone, probably re-branded.

Could be a Thuringian or possibly a black Ark, from the photos. Not seeing the typical slate, saw marks on the ends. Either way it could be a nice finisher.

    Welcome to the forum.

Hi! The stone is definitely not Ark. more precisely it is not
novaculite. it is 100% slate, tactile like velvet, the stone is medium hard, the suspension is not easily induced! but without the efforts of)) suspension of a light gray color)) so far, I have only this information)) regards, RuslanName: IMG_20191028_193659.jpg

Thanks! Yes, it is reminiscent of what in the Thuringian slate, but it seemed to me that this instance is a little bit rough than thuri..... I still managed to run suspension on the razor, and the edge leaves a matte effect mirror. Here is a photo of my Attributed Thuringian slate with an increase of 500x and Unknown UK Stone 500x. unknown stone looks davolno grubavat)) sincerely, Ruslan

Greetings, gentlemen! I stone leveled, on powder (silicon carbide) up to 1000 grit. and finally I saw the depth and structure of the stone, and to be honest I'm not sure that the stone is tyuri! I unfortunately have nothing to compare... but it may be that it is Scottish quartz slate Water OF Ayr! what do you think, is there such a thought to exist?https://youtu.be/5hSCqaIG_sE

Could be. A visual characteristic with the Water of Ayer is to have small comet-like inclusions on the surface. Yours seems to have some mottling that suggests it, but the sharpness of the images is not precise enough for me to determine. Could also be Welsh slate.
