Yea. Could be Washita, just lap the flat side, leave the concave side.
If it Washita you need some loose 60 grit Silicone Carbide, you will ruin a Diamond plate and sandpaper won’t do much.

I understand completely. I have quite a few nice stones (some here as well) and still look at these like I have none. I'm hopeless.
From what I've read, about your lapping, and the pics of the hone, I'd agree with a Washita of some type.
Will light penetrate the stone.? I have two of them, one is partially translucent, the other, not at all.

No. 25 is probably a Frictionite 00. The "micro cracks" you referred to are caused by freezing and thawing or improper tempering during the manufacturing process.
