1660 grams of solid rock
Postman delivered this today:
1660 grams natural combo from an old barber shop. Veins are red. At its deepest the yellow coticule is still 1.5 cm deep. Veins are red. So this most likely is a La Dessante.
Has this engine room smell due to use with oil.
29 cm long 8 cm at its widest.Last edited by Kees; 04-15-2021 at 05:51 PM.

Very interesting read!
Depending on the pressure exerted onthe blade you can get with the use of a lot of pressure arough impression and with very little pressure an almostpolished edge. All that with only one stone!
Super interesting stones and dear gawd, what a species you got there, amazing!Last edited by TristanLudlow; 04-15-2021 at 08:30 PM.

After a couple hours'worth of elbow grease the hone is lapped and looks even better. Iron pigment in veins clearly visible now. It now weighs in at 1570 grams so I had to remove 90 grams of rock to get a flat honing surface.
