I touched up two Ralf Aust razors on La Lune. I used a thin slurry on one, gradually diluting
to water only. On the other, I used water + glycerin, as Viergedefer suggested. I stropped them
both on linen and Roo. Then I shaved half my face with each, for comparison.
Both versions gave me a close, comfortable shave, with little or no irritation. I have to say, however,
that I think that Viergedefer got it exactly right:
Now I want to try honing La Lune with oil, and compare the result with a couple of other natural finishers
that I'm familiar with: Black Arkansas and Blue/green Escher. More on that later.
In the meantime, I'm happy with the stone, and I'm pretty sure that it will fit in my progression
somewhere between a Naniwa 12K and an Arkie, or maybe a Zulu Gray.
I'm just a hobby honer, so take this for what it's worth. I need to spend more time with La Lune,
that's for sure.
