    Default Local find

I was at a local antique shop today and found these massive stones. I asked the shop owner about them and he said he found them in his basement while cleaning it out. They came from a local butcher shop and was bought from the shop20 plus years ago. Best I can figure is they are a type of slate, not 100% sure though. I made a few manageable size stones out of them.

I do know they act as finishers. The shave off them is quite nice and smooth.

.Enjoy them. It is great to make such a find and what's even better is that you took the time to find out what role they can play in the razor-honing process.
