Just found this in my drawer
I have no idea where I got this, I haven't ever used it
I don't know what it's actually for, maybe a penknife?
It has #43 on it and I wouldn't want to touch it with a razor.

You never realize what you have until it's gone -- Toilet paper is a good example

Thanked: 133Was at a museum recently and there was this cool box with a stone roughly 6inches by 4 or 5 inches roughly with a carved dragon emblem up top. Was for ink and sharpening their pen/quil (not very informed on the subject) and thought it was very cool. The stone in the box was some Chinese natural

The color of that is hard to tell from the photo. It looks kind of reddish but that could be from the box in the picture. If that is so it may be an India stone. If it is gray like it seems like it might be it may be carborundum which is a trade name for silicon carbide.
Whichever it is it appears too course for razors. It is likely a useful stone for knives, from what seems to be the size probably small for large knives but good for pocket knives.Iron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. PR 27:17

Thanked: 104Its pretty bad when we can just find stuff in desk drawers that we never even knew we had. I bought a cool bronze statue at an estate sale that looked like one that I had seen at an auction. It turns out that I had actually bought the one at the auction too, and it was sitting on a shelf in my living room. Now I have a matching set.

Thanked: 556Not as bad as when you sell an item and then buy it back years later. Nope, not me.
