    La Dressante Upper Layer... probably.
    And it's almost 20mm thick, not 18mm

    Ardennes binds cotis to a BBW or slate base because the coti is fragile. I’ve also seen cotis glued to a wood base.

    You might consider doing something similar to protect the integrity of that beautiful stone.
