Thanked: 0Seeking Advice: Buying a Jnat in Japan as a Beginner
Hello everyone!
I joined the hobby a couple of months ago, and I've been having a lot of fun shaving with a straight razor. I haven't honed my razors yet, but I think it's almost time to start. I've done some research into honing, and I've noticed that many people recommend starting with synthetic stones for their consistency and ease of use. That sounds like a great idea, but I'm also really intrigued by the idea of using a Jnat.
I'll be in Japan for about a week this month, and I'm wondering if it would be easier or more affordable to buy a Jnat while I'm there. However, I've also read that Jnats are some of the most counterfeited stones out there, and since I'm completely new to honing, I'm at a high risk of getting scammed. I read the 'Jnat Buying 101' post by Zib, and it had a lot of great information on buying Jnats online and in general. Does anyone have experience buying stones in Japan? It may be early to get into Jnats, but I'm not sure when I will ever be in Japan again, so I feel like I should capitalize on this opportunity.
Thank you very much, and I hope you all have a great day!
Best regards,
Risible
