Default People Don't Like Swatys Anymore?

I just snagged two count em two Franz Swaty stones on Ebay for $31.05 each plus shipping.

The last one I bought I paid $25.00 for.

Have these fallen out of favor or something?

thats where they should be going IMHO. I dont want them being so popular that you end up paying more than 50 for an ok stone.

That's about right - I paid $17 shipped for mine about a year ago. And I've seen them go for less. It's just that every now and then a couple of guys will get into a bidding war and the price goes up for a while.

I think a belgian coticule of the same size is a better honing tool.

Yes it's a little more expensive, but it's IMHO more versatile.

I've had both and I kept the coticule and sold the swaty.

    Each to their own.
