Easy off for the bulk of oil, then Water and TSP or Simple Green, put it in the sun and soak for a couple of days, keep changing juice untill it is clear. I've had some soaking for over a month.
If you heat in a slow cooker it will speed up the process, makes roast taste funky, but you got to have your priorities. Serously, 10 buck at a thrift store. Heat it up then turn off and let it sit for the day. change the juice and repeat untill clean. Get one of the oblong cookers to handel an 8 in stone.

Thanked: 3215I have tried salt, but after a couple of weeks with little effect, I bought the Easy Off and a Slow Cooker. I also heat water in a tea kettle and add water to the TSP/Water or Simple Green or Dawn and water mix and set in sun. Both slow cooker & heated water work, but take some time. If you are trying to get out as much oil as possible and you think you got it all out, set it in the sun on a paper towel, if oil comes to the surface or on the towel... back in the juice.
