    so then it is a natural stone judging from the streaking; so then the patent is on the stone holder/ strop- i really like those and have made a few so i appreciate seeing different designs and materials

    This one looks a lot like what I have seen in this thread. Is this a Swedenstein then? And Yes, it will be restored soon I hope.

    Yeah that is a Schwedenstein hone, very typically mounted on those razor boxes, typical color and mottling n the stone. Congrats to the find!
