Is "Korn: F 2500 (sehr fein)" the stone grit?

If so, I never saw such coarse Thuringians before.

By comparision, looking at the coticules, they have the F 2000 grit and also "J (8000)", seems that the "J" grit scale is what we are more used to.
So, if F2000 = J8000, then it makes more sense now that F2500 is the grit of the finer Thuringian.

So, these are coarser than the vintage Thuringians?
I have a vintage (I guess) Thuringian on my way. So, this will be finer, say in the 12k? 10k?

with natural stones you never know until you try it.
Vintage thuringians have great reputation, the new ones not so much.
I have tried two of the new ones from two different vendors, one of them was finer but both could not compare to my Escher. IMHO if you want an almost sure bet at a good Thuringian go for a vintage one. One thing to keep in mind, I have seen mentioned in a thread, that not all vintage Thuringians are razor quality I am not sure how one could tell the difference and if this is a fact though.

The Vintage Thuri in the little box is up to par with the Escher stones but it's small. That means you have to do a lot more laps on it. I own one and I love it like I love my Escher.

The big new ones are garbage imo, I have one and it sits in a cabinet somewhere.
