Thanked: 132I think Utopian is right. When i first started looking at hones, i just assumed that the chinese 12K was man made, do to the grit destination. It wasnt until much later, that i read that it was a natural stone.
Just my 0.2 cents.

Thanked: 3795I don't honestly believe that I will succeed in altering the designation of what I have been calling the Chinese hone. I just wanted to point out the disparity and confusing aspect of calling it by a grit designation.
I'll go ahead and go back to playing with my 12k Escher, my 15k Escher, my 16k Escher, my 16.2k Escher, my 3k-14k coticules, my 27k Nakayama Namito, my 31k Nakayama Asagi, my 36k Nakayama Asagi, and my Chinese hone.
