My non-porous stones are in my medecine cabinet above my bathroom sink (pretty much the whole cabinet is full of shaving stuff). My one porous stone (a 220/1K synthetic) just sits on the sink on top of a paper towel. I used to put it away once it dried out, but it takes so long to dry and gets used pretty frequently, so it's not often that it gets put away.
More perks of being single...

The naniwas just chill in some cabinet space in the kitchen when not drying in the dish washer. The DMTs chill on a window sill in the kitchen. The Spydercos are stacked nicely in their boxes wherever I left them last. Must admit, storing the Spydies is the easiest of any hones I've had. Very simple, clean, and neat.

I have mine in a medium sized wooden case on the desk but I'm afraid thats not a good solution for much longer. Those cases tend to shrink.
