    Default Books about Hones?

Can anyone recommend any literature concerning naturally quarried hones? I'm mainly interested in British hones (still trying to track down any information on that that accursed Devonshire Oilstone,) but would be interested in anything that's out there.

I'm familiar with the Noviculite Survey Reports that have been linked to and referenced on SRP before, and wondered if there is a similiar report for hones found outside the US.

    Kindest regards,
    Alex

If there are, I'd certainly like to know too.

I just know some works that mention British hones in passing. Apart from the works mentioned elsewhere on the forum, scanty information can be found:

    - thoughout the Cambridge County Geography series (1st quarter last century; Leicester 1920).
    - Robert Bakewell's 'Introduction to Geology' (1833)(see pic below)
    - D.G. Tucker's articles on millstone-making (~1970-1990)

A bit more can be found on German and Belgian/French hones, but mostly in German and French.
