Default Mr. Charnley has lost some weight....

Mr. Charnley has lost about 1/2 inch off his waist and wants it back. The only solution to his dilema seems to be to glue on another stone, for backing and bring him back up to his sexy, one inch waistline.

I thought it would be fun to put this to a vote and see where it goes from there.

Any and all respectful comments are always welcome.

    Thanks,

    Mac

Glue on something cool and exotic, so I'll have another exciting rock to play with when you send her to me. Tam, Dalmore blue, or the tongue would be my top picks.

Are you thinking of suggesting cutting it into slurry stones and putting the pieces in the classifieds ? If so, great minds think alike.

    Good questions Sham.
Im thinking any stone that progresses from 4K up to 8k, would work well with the Charnly...im not really sure where Charnley would fit, "grit-wise." I just assume it is >12K.

I'm not sure i could cut up a whole stone, to use as slurry stones...i dont mind a slurry stone as a 'by-product,' of cutting...

Yes, well I know that the two honers who know the stone best, Lynn and Sham favor oil for best results which would eliminate slurry. I would just like to have one for the heck of it. Another arrow in the quiver to play around with. If adrspach is still working on that I will soon have one for the hone accumulation. I have to PM to find out.

As for what to glue to it, I don't know what to recommend. To be honest I might look to glue it to a nice stable piece of hardwood like they did in the old days.
