Barber Dry Hone Question
I recently acquired a Dubl Duck 2 sided barber's dry hone and was curious if anyone knows if it is only supposed to be used dry or like many of you suggest, with some water or even a bit of lather on it. No instructions were retained with the box other than the sticker on the hone identifying which side was which.

Its really a matter of preference, try it and find which one you like best. Have fun!

So using either water or lather wouldn't have negative results even though it is a "Dry Hone"?

Thanked: 3795Does the hone imprint say Dubl Duck? You'd be surprised at the number of hones in boxes that don't match.
Some hones do in fact produce a finer finish when used dry, so go ahead and experiment with wet and dry!

Thanked: 3795Huh, well, that's different. I think I've only got one Dubl Duck hone but I'm pretty sure that mine and others that I've seen have an actual molded imprint on the face of the hone. I've never seen one like yours.
