    Default Neglect...

Has anyone else, been neglecting their razors, due to horrible, horrible HAD?
Ive purchased so many stones, this last month, that ive been literally neglecting my razors, shaving with an inferior edge and havnt been able to even test alot of the stones ive recently aquired.
Ugh! This is the one time, i wished i had a bossy wife at home.

Razors? We're all interested in razors here???? Seriously though, I understand where you're coming from. When I go to antique shops and antique shows, sure I have one eye looking for razors, but hands down, I'm looking more for vintage hones and stones. The thrill is greater with stones. I think part of the reason for that with me is that in my area there are so.....many.....CRAPPY razors or boring razors out there; by CRAPPY, I mean over priced and/or damaged beyond repair and worthless razors. When I find stones, generally, after lapping, they turn out to be gems.

Yeah, that is the allure...i buy a nasty black, dirty stone and take it home for cleaning. Its like opening a xmas present...i dont really care what the stone turns out to be...i like them all.
I recently found a rock shop, close by and cut a minnesota pipestone, just to see what it looks like inside...actually it holds some promise as a barber-type hone.

    You only neglected your razors?
I can present you with a much longer list of things to neglect!
(Still lucky I don't have a bossy hubby at home, hehehe)

Keeping a tight grip on your hones and slowly backing away from Lee is almost always a good plan.

I'm collecting acronyms and abbreviations and putting them on said page. Just to clarify:

HAD = Hone Acquisition Disorder ?

    Thanks,

Put it this way, when I go to the classifieds the first tab I click on is 'strops and hones' not straight razors. With fourteen coticules not to mention Eschers, Thuringans, Nortons, Shaptons, and Naniwas I am now infatuated with barber hones of all things. Resisting the call of the Nakayama ..... so far.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
