    Default First Barber hone experience!

    Last night I got to use my first barber hone. My only other finishing hone is a CH12k. And the basic norton 1,4, & 8k set up. A friend had a razor that was close and got himself a barber hone, he asked if I would finish honing his razor so I used his hone. Wow those are some good old hones! I made some passes on it (great feed back I have to say) then went to the cromox then leather then a quick prep and shave and it turned out great. The hone he has is a Witte IXL razor hone, just your typical barber hone.

    So now I guess I will be getting one. I have read a lot about them but never had the chance to use one, but now I see why so many still have and use these old hones!!

    Barer hones are great If you know when to use it.
