    I too think your better off with some other stone. Unless you want to double or triple your honing time.

    If you're finish-honing, it shouldn't take more than a few dozen passes, which would take maybe 10 minutes. If not, then a faster hone would speed up the process

    It's of course a matter of personal preference, but in my case I'm never in that much of a hurry, so I don't mind using "slow" stones.
