Default Got a free Escher stone

My dad went to see the folks last weekend and when he came home he had a box of stuff he picked out of their storage trailer.

Father: "I found a bunch of stones and clippers in there. This one looked interesting. Neat box anyways."

    Me: ...

Father: " I thought you might like that so I brought it home."

    Me:...

Father: " This a good one?"

I was surprised to see one of these up closed to say the least. I was floored when I found out it was being given to me.

This is another one of those things I'd never have gotten unless it fell into my lap.

Killer stone. Looks to be a yellow/green or a light green. Either one is a great razor hone IME.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Nice!!!!

That would go for a LOT of money on ebay, that's awesome that you got it for free! Hold on to that one.

I believe it actually belonged to my Great Grandfather. He was a Barber before America entered World War II, sometime in the 30's.

Cool. I've got my Great-Grandfather's Escher as well. Mine is a little more used than yours though. Your's is in great condition.

I've been good and stayed HAD free.
I think I got pretty much all the hones I need since I don't restore.

My Ruby Razor hone is alright and shaves off it are comfortable for the most part. I think this Escher will bring me a few more degrees of comfort. Can't wait for the weekend.

Sweet stone, and a rubber (as the Germans would say) to boot. Ultra rare to find both the stone and rubber together.

    Congrats
