Default questions on hand american total package

I received the total package from keith the other day. I already had an older flat bed strop/hone that I used with success. When he offered the kit I ordered one for the diamond spray and the glass plate plus I couldn't turn down the deal. My question, how do people use the honeing film (no grit) that Keith includes with his glass plate and what is the glue stick he includes for?

    Default Same Question

I too just received the full kit, and found myself a bit stumped o about the honing film. So far I've sprayed it with the diamond fluid, allowed it to dry, and used it with an edge trailing strop like stroke.
I did a couple edge leading just to test it and it appeared to work ok but I felt uncomfortable. I've been searching for information everywhere and have found a surprising lack of documentation.
I just know that as soon as I start loading up the various media I'll find out that what I've done isn't optimal. The felt for instance, I think I hit the felt and the scrubbed bull with .5 micron spray...
    go figure.

I like the bovine with CrO2 X's down its length. I don't really care for the felt on razors but do use it for knives. I use a horse pad for my final stroping of razors just use it dry. I would like to try the films but just don't really know where to start. I don't really want it for razors but for kitchen knives.

I also found the metal base flatter than the old magnetic base but like the shape of the old base better.
