    Default Cerax 1000/6000

Has anybody used the Cerax 1000/6000 grit hone?

I read the Cerax stones should be hard and they do not wear quickly.
How does the grit size compare to Norton or Naniwa hones?
Is the 6000 grit side fine enough to give the edge a final polishing on a chinese waterstone or CrOx?

if stone made in usa then their grit size should be same example
    norton 1k should +this stone 1k.
can you put final edge ? sorry no 6000 is not good for shaving . you will end up using pastes or finer stones.

AFAIK Cerax stones are made in Japan.
Do you think that this 6000 grit stone is fine enough to proceed with a chinese waterstone or diamond pastes with particle size 0.5 um or 0.25um?

Answer to your questions is yes.
You can use any option. diamond pastes 01,05.025 will do the job or chinese but stone will take a little longer time. be patient gl

I have exactly this kind of combination stone and use it quite effectively.
First I was bothered about the jump from 1k to 6k,
but it turned out to be possible. It just takes a bit more time.
Cerax or Suehiro are both japanese and are rated in the JIS grit system.
They are somewhat alike, maybe a (noticable) tad coarser than a 4k/8k norton.

The 1k side is quick and enjoyable, the 6k side is a bit harder but feels very nice. The stone works. Nothing like a king 1k/6k
But personally I have always added another hone to finish prior to pasting and stropping.
The C12k is not my favourite anymore but I think you could get along with the cerax 1k/6k and c12k combi and or chrox/diamond loaded leather,
    just like Hi-bud said

    * That's interesting you find the Cerax 1000/6000 coarser than the Norton 4K/8k. According to this list it should be a bit finer:

But such comparison based only on technical data is incomplete without the real life comparison.

    that´s the obvious problem with this list;
you and I don´t know. Reports have been made that you can shave directly from the norton 8k side,
I was not able to do that with my Cerax 6k side.

With the grit size given from Norton itself at 3µm it should be considerably coarser than an all JIS 6.000 hone.
But obviously it is not. I don´t have a norton. I can not tell you
