    Default Belgian Blue Whetstone find

Tuesday I went to my local market and walked by some stands with antique and 2nd hand stuff. In a box filled with old tools I found a gray stone apparently used for honing tools and brought it home.

I had no idea what it was but Oldengaerde recognized the pattern as that of a BBW.

I lapped most of the chips out. The red brownish slurry surprised me a little and it seems a soft stone compared to the hones I've lapped before (Swaty, Rozsutec and PHIG/C12k).

I haven't tried honing with it yet.

    It measures 22.9 x 5.5 x 1.9 cm.

Very pretty stone. You should get a DT to hone on so you can put that BBW up on your wall as decoration! Hehe...

Thanks all. It's definately pretty enough to display but my place is already messy enough as it is

I think it does deserve a nice hardwood box, for now it will go in a cardboard box together with all my other hones.
