I do indeed get good fine smooth shaving edges from finishing on a
nice peice of arkansas stone. But i normally pick my finest peice of the stuff.
I normally go with a nice vintage peice that's at least cut to one inch thick.
I either pick a 4by2b1 inch or a 6by2by1 inch stone. You should only really and seriously only finish
on the stuff.
Then i strop the blade and it shaves great for me a very comfortable shaving edge.
Well worth the dough they costs.
