It looks an awful lot like the amazing Water Of Ayr dual-sided hone that recently went for big bucks on eBay to me (completed item 320431905204 in case the link doesn't work). A little darker and wider than the eBay one, which is listed at 7 3/4" x 1 3/8". No visible saw marks on the eBay WOA either. The eBay WOA is photographed wet, in sunlight.

I'd directly post pictures from the completed auction for comparison, but I don't want to violate any forum rules. They're not marked as copyrighted, but neither the hone nor the pictures are mine to post. If it's OK to post pics from completed eBay listings, I do have them.

I watched that auction and i agree that they look very similar...both from the top and the side view. The texture comes through, from the side. My "WOA," was used with oil...which might explain why its a bit darker...?
I forgot to mention, that i did buy this stone, out of Scotland, from an antique dealer...
I honed with it again tonight, using oil...didnt figure it could harm, since it came that way and they finishing edge was quite a bit better than i got the other night...i'll give 'er a shave again tomorrow to see...maybe next time, follow the WOA, with the Charnley, to see if there is improvement...
