Ciao Paisano,
The link did not work for me but if it is the infamous Chinese natural "12K" there is plenty you will find on search. They are normaly very slow polishers that in the end do a fine job, but only for very slow upper end work. I would sum them up as good if you don't mind spending the time they demand and don't even think about doing rougher work with them. Cut up they make a wonderful slurry stone for other rocks too.

Thats a funny looking stone. Its so cheap you could try it out, but I wouldn't expect a whole lot. I definitely wouldn't use it on a razor that I was wanting to keep shave sharp till it was proven.
Its not the Chinese 12k thats talked about on this forum, btw.Last edited by Pete_S; 11-18-2009 at 12:14 PM.

All those veins and inclusions that can be seen in the picture might cause huge problems with razors. I would pass.

Since they are the same hones (in the same box), I don't think it's worth the risk. I'm also not seeing any information about the grit rating, so who know how fine or coarse they are. It says they are suitable for knives; that does not mean they are suitable for razors. If you have some spare money and want to try, by all means do. But I'd suggest you try on a junker, not a nice razor.

interesting hone, this is certainly not the "Chinese 12k"!
What exactly it is, I have o idea.
Chances are high it is a hard, slow cutting medium fine hone

Thanked: 96My eyes are pretty good, even so, I can SEE the grit on that hone. I'd be surprised if it's above 2k. If I were forced to estimate, I'd put it in the 800-1400 range. Picture could be misleading though, but I doubt it's a good razor hone.
If you want the chinese 12k, get it from woodcraft.com. They have them for barely HALF what eBay sellers try to get for them (2" wide one is $20+20 shipping on eBay, $20 with FREE shipping from woodcraft (In US). You rarely even find the 3" wide on on ebay, and it's only $35 at woodcraft.
