I have a number of sizes.

One of the things So said to me was not to sell stones I don't like yet because as my honing improves, I will learn to like them.

Last night, I was working with a stone I had previously thought was too small and it did a nice job on the edge. It involved a change in my stroke. It was the first time in a while that I cut myself using the TPT.

I like My Ohira Tomae for a medium hone but would like something bigger. With the 2 by 5 size, I feel like I am working harder than I need to. I am using thicker slurry (to get more cutting power) and more (and more varied) strokes than I feel I would with a larger hone.

A side thought, I am really appreciating the need for a medium hone. something between my Aoto and whatever finisher I will use. Tonight I will pull out the Coticule with slurry and see how it funtions here.

I am talking to So (from japan-tool.com) about getting a top notch medium finisher for this. It looks like I will be looking at an Ohira Suita.
