    Default Yin-Yang, RAD-HAD

After reading Daves thread lead me to revive my Belgian Blue and to seriously think about why one should never get rid of a hone.
Perfect harmony in the sport we love can only be achieved when RAD is balanced with HAD. We all have had razors that just don't work with the normal magical progressions we try. Case in point was a big old smiley W&B wedge that really had me for a while. Edge crumbling and wire edge off the DMT made any further honing useless. To the rescue was belgian Blue and Nakayama. I remember just a couple weeks ago saying that I don't find much use for the BB and how mine had not been used for years.
What worked was going back ant forth from the Belgian B to the Nakayama with heavy slurries on both, then repeated with lighter slurries diluting them until razor was sharp and smooth. Finishing with microbevel and leather resulted in a fantastic smooth shave.
Moral of the story is every hone has a blade that will work best and that is why many options are best!!
