Default need help with Pike Ezy Edge

I picked up this Pike Ezy Edge Barbers Hone the other day. It has been lapped and is ready to use. The only thing is that it did not come with directions.

Does anyone else have one of these and could assist me with directions for use?

The reason I ask this is because I did a search and saw that one hone said to use dry and could possibly ruin if you use wet. I also did a search on google, but did not come up with anything. Here are some pics, but not very good ones.

Using the back side of the hone, lay the blade flat and without any excess pressure, use an X stroke 4-6 laps(roundtrips) up and down the hone, double up on the stropping after you hone and all should be well.

What is the logic of using the back side of the hone?
Is it a finer grit system?

some hones are two sided, using the back then the front, if it is not two sided use the back, there is more usable hone.

The instructions that come with my Pike Ezy Edge say, "May be used dry or with oil or water.".

I am going to use it tonight on a razor with just water.

What kind of oils do people use with a barber hone?

Most razor folk to not use oil on a stone.

The shaving environment has water and soap.
    So go with the water.....

On occasion some folk use a bit of lather too.

I've used Ballistol (easy to switch back to water since Ballistol will emulsify with it) on several barber hones. I think water or lather is as good or better, and less messy.
