    Default Diamond King Hone

I picked up this little hone on ebay the other day; paid 20 bucks for it. I lapped it and took a few swipes on a razor that was starting to tug a bit. It seems to have keened up. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is faster or slower compared to a Naniwa 12k? The 12k is the only other hone that I own. I got it to give a couple of razors a touch up. Which should I be using first, the vintage barber hone or the 12k? Carlo

Depends what are you trying to achieve.if you are in the bathroom and ready for shave find out your blade pulls a little use barber hone. 2-6 strokes then you done.
if you want to put final edge to the blade use Naniwa +diamond paste (srd has this).
    hope this helps

Yes, this was what I was looking for. Thanks. I have a Vintage Blades strop with the webbing. Should I look at getting a second webbing for some paste and keep one clean?

I wouldnt worry about pastes if you have a hone like that.
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain
