Default slight crack in new a naniwa hone?

    Hello,

I have just received a new Naniwa 12K hone. Upon opening I noticed a small crack. I definitely feel it if I pass my finger on it, and it seems to run all the way down. Is this a minor and common irregularity whose effect would disappear upon lapping, or should I contact the store and arrange for a replacement?

(my camera is broken so I cannot easily send a picture)

    Thanks,

Never seen a cracked Naniwa before... If you can see that the crack depth shallow, it wiould lap out, but either way I would recommend that you return it and get yourself a new one.

Synthetic stones in general, should not have cracks. I would recommend above advice and return it for a replacement.

Yeah, a replacement sounds like it is warranted in this case.

Thank you all! I have now engaged the process. It's always uncomfortable asking for returns with little knowledge. Much better with competent advice!
