Big one is 13 pound. it is oil stone and seller said it is razor hone.
i don't have time to play with it a lot . i have tried only 1 razor yet.

it 's natural hone. what it is i have no idea.
I am sure it is not CF.

13 pounds! I would hate to see the shipping costs on that one! I will have to come over and see that one, no idea what it is.
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain

Just wear hard toe shoes when you're playing with that one.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

It is very close to cf in hardness or arkansas. lapping this stone is a dead end for me. that is why i am trying to buy dmt 325 it may help me.it is slurry white color i tried the clean it up and made a slurry test the razor.
Just takes huge time to lap this thing.
Jimmy seller said stone for straight razor's that is it. has no idea who used when. Knows only belonged his grandparents.
It has been used only with oil.
I am not sure from which country it is from. seller doesn't know.
hope this helps.

As far as the smaller dry hone is concerned I can offer some limited information. There seemed to be a number of different companies offering a very similiar type of dry hone. I saw your hone on ebay, and I also have two myself. The labels are all very similiar, on my two they're identical. One was retailed by Kirscheners of Manchester and the other is a Niagara brand from Canada, aside from the different company names, the labels are word for word identical.
The hones themselves are made of greywacke, they feel quite rough to the touch, but being very slow cutting they put a reasonable polish on an edge coming off of an 8k hone.
Hope this helps,
Kindest regards,
Alex

Heavens, Sham! You have HAD really, really badly when you're getting 13 pound rocks internationally shipped!
That said I have no idea what that hone is... but I REALLY want one now! Congrats on your new toy!
