I tried to do research on that stone, thinking that its in the catagory of the escher stones (just not famous name brand) I know people pay lots of cash for that magic name. As for the answer to your last question, my answer, in a word is, NO!
I dont fight bidding wars normally, and I'm sure I can buy plenty of other stones for that sort of money. 100 was going to be my top bid anyway, so I would not have won.
