    Default Stone Grit Comparisons..

So, I was going over the grit comparison chart that's dated August 6 2009 and was hoping to get a little clarification.

I was noticing down at the bottom that the JIS 6000 grit is actually finer than the norton 8000 grit..am I seeing this correctly or am I missing something?
is a King 6k actually finer than a Norton 8k?

    There are different standards.
Also maximum and average grit numbers apply differently
    in the different standards.

To some degree this is why a set of stones from
a single vendor is a good thing. With natural
hones grit is only an approximation....

Note the different standards at the
top of this table, the URL should be good
    for a while......
