    Default corner chipped

    i took a look at my naniwa 8k this morning, and noticed that the corner is chipped, now is this gonna kill me or can i lap it out. dont want to hone on it till i know what to do, luckily i am waiting on my 1k right now.

    Sure you can smooth it out. If it isn't in the path that the razor would travel when honing it isn't an issue.
    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    well i looked at it again. i might just make it out of the path when i use the x pattern, so i can breathe a little easier, i guess that it will lap out over time, id hate to think that my 8k just got accidentally ruined by the "nobody" in my house

    Well if it is just at the very corner you knock those down when you chamfer the edges anyway. Chamfering the edges is a good thing IMO. Not everyone does but it may save the blade from a micro chip if the edge of the hone develops any divots.
    Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    I highly recommend getting rid of those squared edges...all of them.
