Thanked: 132Belgium coticule candy.
This is a recent 8x3, " La Dressante" coticule, i purchased. I have had it about a month now and have honed with it using a few razors...Red Imp, W&B faux frameback, Dovo and of course my Maestro Livi straight.
It is a bit harder than my previous natural coticule, but with slurry, seems to cut just as fast...i am quite satisfied with how it finishes as well.
It is a colorful coticule, (yellow's, pinks and blue's...typical of La Dressante's,) and i do like it alot.
Comments, of course, are always quite welcome.
Many thanks,
Mac

Mac, that's gorgeous. I've never seen another one like it, to be honest. Did you request a colored stone, or did they just send you that as a pleasant surprise?! I continue to be amazed by the variety of stones I see that people have gotten from Ardennes Coticule.

Lovely color on that one. I find that when they have the pink bits they will be excellent cutters.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Purty! Do you find it to be a fast or slow cutter, particularly? Thanks for the eye candy!

Thanked: 13245Nice hunk o rock Mac, I got a new 8 x 3 Coti too but I haven't taken pics, it ain't as pretty as that one...
I have been really liking the finish on the older Sheffielders with it, seems to bring out the best in those heavy blades... Not liking it so much on any of the others though...Hard to beat the Naniwa SS and the Shapton GS with those...

Thanked: 132Thanks Tim.
This coti, came to me as a complete suprise...as usually the best ones do. I have, however, requested a couple slurry stones of like-make and they are on their way...this particular stone did not come from Ardennes directly, so the suprise was even greater.
