You have to be careful with some of these. The Norton lapping plate will gum up when used with the Naniwa Super Stone. I think the best all around lapping plate for the money which works with the Naniwa, Shapton and Norton along with a few others is the DMT 325 course plate.

    Have fun,

Just an update, I bought that lapping stone and tryed it on my naniwas. It worked well as long as it was under running water. The one thing that did concern me is that it left scratches in the finer grit stone. I solved this by lapping with my 1K after the lapping stone. (Not my idea but another great tip from SRP). Also i didnt see this till after but they recomend after using the lapping stone a few times that you true it using a diamond stone, so you might as well get one in the first place. I think it will work well for me short term but in hindsight the diamond stone is a better choice. Hope this helps.
