Thanked: 2209Take a sheet of sandpaper and lay it on a countertop. Then take that stone and try to lap it. If it is a Thuringen/Escher/German waterstone type then it will lap easily and a bluish/greenish powder will be left on the sandpaper. If it is hard to lap then it is something else.
